There's an important difference between a satellite that won't connect and one that won't sync. Connecting is about signal strength once a satellite is already paired. Try the manual sync button first
Every Orbi router and satellite has a small sync button, usually on the side or back. Press and hold the sync button on your main router for a few seconds until its light starts blinking, then do the same on the satellite within about two minutes. The two units should find each other automatically and the satellite's light will settle to solid blue or white once paired.
Re-add it through the app instead
If the physical button method doesn't take, open the Orbi app, go to your network's device list, and choose to add a new satellite. The app will walk you through the same pairing process with on-screen confirmation at each step, which makes it easier to tell exactly where the process is failing.
Reset just the satellite, not the whole system
A stuck sync is often caused by leftover pairing data from a previous network. Press and hold the small reset pinhole on the satellite itself (not the router) for about 10 seconds until the light cycles. This wipes only that unit's pairing memory, so your router, wifi name, and other satellites are unaffected. Try syncing again once it reboots.
